This was the movie that made me realize Owen was going to be a star. He has an amazing screen presence. It’s not just that he is devastatingly handsome, he owns the screen, like Cloony always has.

This is an excellent film for Casino buffs, and just as enjoyable it is watching the birth of a star in Clive Owen.

Bernie (William H. Macy) is “The Cooler” who brings bad luck to every hot gambler. When a guy is on a roll, they send in Bernie, who by some mystical means is a cloud of bad luck that effects everyone in his vicinity. Bernie struggles with his role, and his life long bad luck.

When Bernie meets Natalie his luck starts to turn, thus the Casino Manager (Baldwin) luck changes also. Baldwin will stop and nothing to keep his secret weapon and the story unfolds as Bernie tries to escape his life as “The Cooler”.

Great movie, check it out. As always William H. Macy puts on an amazing performance.

Who could ever forget Chase standing at the hotel check in with the blue water on his hand and sleeve from the ill attempted Mile High escapade with Mrs Griswold on the flight over. The receptionist stares at his hand and sleeve and he says: “It’s a birthmark.”

Vegas Vacation, a brilliantly stupid movie.

Written by Jon Favreau and starting Vince Vaughn and Favreau himself, this isn’t exactly a Casino movie, but hey, they go to Vegas, and it does contain one of the most classic gambling scenes in Casino history.
With Vaughn and Favreau saddled up to a high stakes Blackjack table, the bulk of their money comes to risk as the dealer speads an 11 in front of them.
